Terms of Service
Last updated: October 12, 2026
Welcome to SpendHack. By accessing or using our application, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. Please read them carefully, as they govern your use of the platform.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By creating an account, accessing, or using SpendHack (collectively referred to as the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to all the terms and conditions of this agreement, then you may not access the website or use any services.
2. Description of Service
SpendHack is an independent, software-as-a-service personal finance tool designed to empower users to manually track their daily expenses, construct personalized categories, and review analytics summarizing their spending habits over time.
Important Distinction: SpendHack operates entirely independently of your banking institutions. The Service does not connect directly to your bank accounts, does not automatically import transactions via plaid/open-banking APIs, and does not execute, initiate, or authorize any financial transactions on your behalf.
3. User Accounts & Security
To use the core features of SpendHack, you must register for an account.
- You agree to provide accurate, complete, and current information during the registration process and to update such information to keep it accurate, complete, and current.
- You are solely responsible for safeguarding the password and authentication credentials that you use to access the Service.
- You agree not to disclose your password to any third party. You must notify us immediately upon becoming aware of any breach of security, unauthorized access, or unauthorized use of your account.
4. No Financial Advice
SpendHack is strictly an informational tool designed to assist you in tracking your personal finances. The charts, insights, budget summaries, and categorization tools provided by the Service are for informational purposes only. They do not constitute professional financial, accounting, tax, investment, or legal advice. You should consult a qualified, certified professional before making significant financial decisions based on data tracked within our application.
5. Acceptable Use Policy
You agree to use SpendHack only for its intended personal finance tracking purpose. By using the Service, you explicitly agree that you will not:
- Use the Service for any illegal, fraudulent, or unauthorized purpose, including violating any local, state, or international laws.
- Attempt to interfere with, compromise the system integrity or security, or disrupt the performance of the Service, its servers, or associated networks.
- Upload, transmit, or distribute malicious code, viruses, trojans, or inappropriate/illegal content in expense receipt attachments or feedback forms.
- Attempt to decipher, decompile, disassemble, or reverse engineer any of the software comprising or in any way making up a part of the Service.
- Automate usage via bots, scrapers, or programmatic scripts to extract data or artificially inflate system load without explicit prior consent.
6. Termination & Suspension
We reserve the right to terminate or suspend your access to our Service immediately, without prior notice or liability, for any reason whatsoever, including without limitation if you breach these Terms. Upon termination, your right to use the Service will immediately cease. If you wish to terminate your account, you may simply discontinue using the Service or contact support to request complete data deletion.
7. Limitation of Liability
In no event shall SpendHack, nor its developers, directors, employees, partners, agents, suppliers, or affiliates, be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages. This includes, without limitation, loss of profits, data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses, resulting from:
- Your access to or use of, or inability to access or use, the Service;
- Any conduct or content of any third party on the Service;
- Any unauthorized access, use, or alteration of your transmissions or content.
We provide the Service strictly on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis. We make no warranties, express or implied, that the Service will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, or entirely error-free.
8. Changes to Terms
We reserve the right, at our sole discretion, to modify or replace these Terms at any time. We will attempt to provide reasonable notice of any material changes. What constitutes a material change will be determined at our sole discretion. By continuing to access or use our Service after those revisions become effective, you agree to be bound by the revised terms.
